One of my favorite learn-how-to sites is Craftsy.com. If you’ve never checked it out, then let me just tell you that it is absolutely an awesome place to learn new skills. Craftsy offers classes in Cake Decorating, Sewing, Knitting, Painting and much more. I have taken many of their cake decorating classes to sharpen skills and learn new things that Wilton just simply doesn’t teach (like how to make a bobble head cake).
Craftsy takes a unique and techy approach to arts and crafts. Once you play for a class you gain lifetime access to it! It NEVER goes away. It’s yours forever. The skills and advice of some of the leading artists in their fields are available right at your fingertips. Students can ask questions to the instructors, post pictures of their finished products and network with other students.
Wilton recently announced that they have joined the ranks of instructors on Craftsy.com! This is great for anyone who would like to learn the Wilton method but may not live near a location that offers classes. And if you prefer to still attend a traditional classroom setting, then have no fear! Us Wilton Method Instructors are still available at local craft stores to teach you everything from the basics of cake decorating to advanced methods of gumpaste and fondant.
Head on over to Craftsy’s site and look around. I’m sure you will find a class that interests you (even if it isn’t cake decorating).
