An Inspirational International Women’s Day

Every year on March 8th, a special day is celebrated all around the world. It is the International Women’s Day. According to the site, “it is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past present and future”. People from many cultures all over the world celebrate and recognize the achievements of women everywhere.

Living in our western culture it can be easy to forget about all of the suffering still taking place. There are many women living a difficult life full of shame, suffering, sadness, loneliness and inequality all over this amazing planet. Today I honor all women past present and future who will, have and are making an impact in the lives of others. These are women who make the tough choices everyday, who are business women, who are single, who are married, who are mothers, and who want to become mothers. Women who feel overwhelmed, stressed, joyful and blessed. We are women, wondering along separate paths, intertwining along many roads in this life.

Today I want to use this post as a source of inspiration. Many times women tear each other down when they should be building each other up! We’ve all been guilty of it. There’s no reason to justify tearing someone down or not supporting a hurting sister. It is my goal to build each one of you up today. I want to take a deeper look into words that wise women have spoken and words that have been spoken about women throughout time. Words that resonate in our souls still today. These words may move us, shake us and transform us. I know someone out there may need to hear something uplifting today. It is my hope that you find what your soul needs in these powerful pieces spoken by so many before us.

I also want to recognize that there are so many wonderous, inspirational and successful women that we all have had bless our lives. The kind of woman that makes a difference through servant leadership, a kind heart, gentle spirit, fierce attitude, sharp whits, savvy business sense and nurturing capabilities. She’s out there, and a little bit of her resides in all of us. I know you have a woman you think highly of, that may have impacted your life. A teacher, mother, friend, neighbor or even a stranger you don’t even know. She could be anyone. I would love to hear about her and how she has impacted yours and others lives. Please feel free to share in the messages below.
