Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

thing 1

March 2nd marks the birthday of one of the greatest children’s authors of all time, Theodore Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. This year he would have turned 109 years old! During his remarkable lifetime he published 46 books. Many of these books are still wildly popular. I think we all know The Cat in the Hat, One Fish Two Fish, Green Eggs and Ham and The Lorax. These are just some of the wonderful characters this man dreamed up.

Every year the National Education Foundation calls upon communities across the nation to get involved with the joy of reading on March 2nd in honor the great Dr. Seuss. Check out your local libraries or bookstores for special Dr. Seuss events tomorrow. You can also go to the Read Across America website and make a pledge to read with your kids. Below is a list of various events taking place tomorrow across our great nation.
